by admin477351

As Ireland prepares for a rematch against Japan in Cork on Saturday, the team has announced six changes to their starting lineup. This follows their recent 31-24 victory over Japan in Galway last Sunday. The lineup adjustments see new faces and strategic shifts aimed at maintaining their winning momentum.

Notably, Jane Clohessy and Niamh Gallagher will make their first starts for the national team. Additionally, Sophie Barrett, Kate Jordan, and Alana McInerney are poised to make their international debuts from the bench, highlighting a fresh infusion of talent into the squad.

The forward pack will see Linda Djougang returning to the loosehead prop position, joining forces with Neve Jones and Eilís Cahill. Clohessy will start at lock alongside Fiona Tuite-O’Sullivan, adding depth to the team’s scrummaging capabilities. In the backline, Emily Lane resumes her role at scrum-half, partnering with Dannah O’Brien to drive the team’s attacking play.

Aoife Dalton’s return to the center position, alongside Anna McGann, is another significant change, while Robyn O’Connor will start on the left wing. Niamh Gallagher shifts to full-back, with Beibhinn Parsons maintaining her position on the right wing, ensuring continuity in the team’s offensive strategy.

The back row remains stable, with Captain Erin King, Brittany Hogan, and Jemima Adams Verling continuing their roles, providing leadership and experience to the team. As Ireland seeks to replicate their previous success against Japan, these lineup changes reflect a blend of consistency and innovation.
