This new route will feature four daily direct services originating from London St. Pancras, significantly improving the convenience and speed of travel by removing the current necessity to transfer trains in Brussels.
The introduction of this service will shorten the travel time to approximately 2 hours and 41 minutes, a considerable reduction compared to the existing journey which requires travelers to make a stop at Brussels-Midi station. This direct link is poised to appeal to passengers seeking a more streamlined itinerary between the two cities.
However, the service will initially be one-way only, as Antwerp Central Station currently lacks the necessary UK border and customs facilities to accommodate direct returns to London. Consequently, passengers returning from Antwerp to London will still need to transfer in Brussels until the proper infrastructure is developed to support direct travel in both directions.
