In a commanding performance at Eden Park, New Zealand triumphed over Ireland with a 40-21 victory, maintaining their incredible unbeaten record at the Auckland venue, which now extends to 53 matches. The All Blacks took an early lead with a series of formidable plays, including four tries in the first half that set up a significant 28-7 advantage by halftime. This win represents their third consecutive victory in the inaugural Nations Championship.

The scoring was initiated by Patrick Tuipulotu for the home team, followed by a try from captain Ardie Savea. Despite a brief setback when Luke Jacobson was sidelined with a yellow card, reducing New Zealand to 14 players, Ireland’s only first-half response came through a try by Jack Conan. The All Blacks capitalized on an Irish error, with Will Jordan securing his sixth try in the last three Tests. Just before the halftime whistle, Asafo Aumua added another try, further cementing New Zealand’s dominance.

After the break, Ireland showed improvement with Joe McCarthy and Hugo Keenan each crossing the try line. However, their efforts were not enough to recover from the initial deficit and defensive lapses. New Zealand continued to exert pressure, with Damian McKenzie and Anton Lienert-Brown sealing the match with additional tries.

The victory signals a promising beginning for head coach Dave Rennie, as his team has now achieved victories against France, Italy, and Ireland, setting a positive tone ahead of their upcoming four-match tour in South Africa.
